COLLAGE BOOK SHARES ANIMAL FACTS

I recently received the picture book “Under the Desert Skies: Hiss, Sigh, Squawk!,” by Ana Lewis and Corinne Lewis. This book’s art is very collage like. It looks as if the authors cut out newspaper strips and painted them to look colorful. If you have a sister or brother 2 to 5 years old, then you should buy this book at Amazon or your local bookstore.

This book has three short chapters and takes place in the Sonoran Desert. Number one, Hiss, which is a lot like “Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See.” Number two, Sigh, which is rhyming, and number three, Squawk, which is about a family of Gambel’s Quail. Also, one really admirable part is that at the end of each chapter it has fun facts!

Ana and Corinne Lewis are sisters-in-law. Together they make books mainly with creative paper images. Ana and Corinne Lewis have written one other book together, “Under The Desert Skies: The Stinky, Curious, and Disgusting.” I hope you liked my “Under The Desert Skies” art/book report!
