This year I had the pleasure of participating in the 2nd Annual Wizard Run. The run first took place in 2018 in Joplin, Missouri. The run is 5K, which is equal to three miles. There is a 1 Mile Fun Run you can do as well.

When you register you can choose one of four packages; Broomstick, Phoenix, Owl or Crest. You can also pick one of four colors. I chose the Crest and my dad picked the Broomstick. My shirt was green and his was red. Along with the shirt you receive a custom wand, a medal and a number bib.

Have you ever talked to someone who speaks another language? It’s hard to communicate, right? That is how deaf people feel every day when they try to understand spoken English. The language of deaf people is American Sign Language. It is important to give sign language rights to all deaf people so they can communicate with each other and hearing people.

The third annual boys-only trip to Bartlett Lake was fun! When my brother and I arrived, we went down by the shore and just hung out. There are so many things to do at the lake like boating, games, fishing,and hanging out by the campfire.

Our Gpaw came a little later with his boat, then our friends went to get their boat. When we went on the boat we jumped off the boat into the lake. (It’s kind of cold!)

Modeling in the fashion world can be exciting. From magazine covers to globetrotting, these are just a few cool things you get to experience with a modeling job. But, there is more. How about building self-esteem, healthy eating, manners and etiquette, just to name a few. Those are important, too, to help models navigate successful modeling careers.

C.E. Rose hosted their first color run on Nov. 22. It was held on the inner field of the track.

Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of becoming a firefighter. My dad has been a firefighter with the Phoenix Fire Department for almost 15 years. He loves his job, and I always have a great time whenever I come to visit him at the station.

Becoming a firefighter is a long process. To get hired, you need to pass a physical, oral and written exam. To pass the physical you need to be in great shape. You also need to become an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Even though college isn’t required, it is very helpful.

Yesenia Browning has ridden horses for five years. She started riding horses when she was in first grade.  For a girl at her age, she didn’t find riding horses hard. If I was her I would have found it very difficult.            

Yesenia started riding because she has loved horses since she was little. Her neighbors have horses and they teach adults and kids to ride. They even enter in rodeos. 

What were a lot of fellow Arizonans doing on Dec. 4? Taking part in the Hot Chocolate Run!

The Hot Chocolate Run is a race where runners can choose from a 5K run or a 15K run. Each group of runners runs around Scottsdale and finishes near the Talking Stick Resort. The race raises money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Phoenix.
