QUEST FOR FUN AT VALLEY OF THE MOON

A new play is coming to Valley of the Moon, and it sounds like it is going to be funny! My mom and I got to talk with Dante Crossroad, the co-director of “The Monty Tale of King Arthur.” He told us what families can expect if they come to the play. It is a comedy and is about an hour long. It is the Valley of the Moon’s own rendition of “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.” Crossroad told us that if you are a Monty Python fan, then this is the show for you!

“The Monty Tale of King Arthur” is about King Arthur of Camelot and his quest to gather knights for the round table and search for the Holy Grail. Some other main characters are a Fairy Historian who guides the audience from one scene to the next, a Black Knight, and three Knights of the Round Table.

Crossroad told us 40 to 45 people are in the cast! While the play is taking place, the audience is walking around and getting a tour of the Valley of the Moon, which is on more than two acres! Five shows take place each night: 6 p.m., 6:30 p.m., 7 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. There are some kids in the play also—the youngest actor is only 5. The shows take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from April 5–28. You can buy tickets on the website tucsonvalleyofthemoon.com . Adult tickets are $10, student tickets are $5 and children 7 and younger are free.

When we asked Crossroad if there was anything else he wanted to tell us, he said to please remember to be kind to everyone. He said that the founder of Valley of the Moon, George Pharr Legler, has a saying that is, “Kindness to all is the golden key to happiness.” We are excited to see the play!
