Have you ever heard of the Children’s Entrepreneur Market? On Nov. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Desert Ridge Market Place, 21001 N. Tatum Boulevard in Phoenix, many kid entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to sell their products or services. Children can sell almost anything handmade, store-bought, food, games or services. This market is completely run by kids ages 5–17.
I am lucky to have a wonderful ceramics instructor, Sarah Reyes at Valley Clay Studio, who is giving her students the opportunity to participate in the market. We will have a booth with a variety of items made with our hands. Each of us has been working on a product we would like to sell. I am working on small clay plates. The plates are not only colorful and decorative, but also useful! They can be used around the house in the kitchen to serve sauces, in the bathroom to hold the hand soap, in the bedroom to keep jewelry. They can be even used as ring holders at weddings! The uses are endless.
The market is a great place to get gifts for the coming holidays and to support the young entrepreneurs in our community. Children are in charge of everything. They will make or choose their product, price it, and sell it. They will be the only ones interacting with customers.
Please save the date to come and enjoy the excitement and the fun of a farmer’s market run entirely by kids! This event is free to attend, but bring money to buy items.
