Phoenix Zoo Lights Up the Valley Over the Holidays

ZooLights is a magical light display that has been shining bright at the Zoo for the past 25 years.  ZooLights consists of millions of lights throughout trees, bushes and even on cacti.

Justin Davis, ZooLights Supervisor, is a free-spirited individual who is a HUGE animal lover!

“I told my mother when I was 8 years old that I was going to work at the zoo,” says Davis. He has worked at the Zoo for five years and oversees the installation and construction of ZooLights.

“I work closely with my five-member team each year to see how we can top the show from the previous year,” says Davis.

Davis believe that ZooLights helps the 30,000 expected guests take in the zoo from a different perspective.

“I cannot begin to explain the joy I feel when I hear the oohs and aahs from the crowds about what they are seeing and experiencing,” says Davis. “This year, in addition to hundreds of light sculptures, we have added a dinosaur replica of the Utahraptor!”
