My family visited a fascinating spot in Phoenix called Arizona Falls. It is the first hydroelectric power generating station in Phoenix. Arizona Falls makes electricity from the power of water falling and spinning a turbine.

Our water comes from melting snow in the mountains, which goes into streams and lakes of the Salt River. Lakes were created from the damns SRP built along the Salt River to prevent flooding. The dams also create energy, and most importantly keep our water supply full.

I’ve been in Girl Scouts for four years. My Girl Scout Troop is really fun because our troop leaders are really nice and I get to do a lot of things with friends and help our community.

Did you hear there’s one new animal at Brights Zoo that is really special? Why is it special you may ask? It is a baby female giraffe that has no spots or patterns. The baby giraffe was born on July 31 in Limestone, Tennessee.

This is the first spotless giraffe born in the United States. The spotless giraffe is unique because the last time this happened was in 1972 in Tokyo, Japan. The baby giraffe is healthy. It is six feet tall. The giraffe’s mom is named Sheena.

My family and my grandma were getting ready for a trip to Disneyland. We packed shirts, jackets, good walking shoes, pants and shorts. We also packed snacks, not just a couple snacks, but enough to last four days.

We went to Harkins to preview the new movie “Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken” on Saturday, June 24. The movie was created by Dreamworks, who also made “Shrek,” “Trolls,” and “How to Train Your Dragon.” The movie is rated PG. I think older kids will like it more.

On Wednesday, Feb. 8, my family went to the WM Phoenix Open at TPC Scottsdale because our family likes to watch golf. It was a Pro Am day so we got to see the players up close. We drove to the parking place and after we were walking a little bit we saw a shuttle bus. The driver said, “Do you need a ride?” and of course we said, “Yes, please!” He took us right to the golf tournament gate and we went right inside, no lines.
