On Monday May 2, teachers and families from Tucson went to Phoenix to march on the Arizona State Capitol. On Tuesday, April 24, several TUSD schools had Walk-Ins. A walk-in is when teachers and families walk around the perimeter of their school.
For those of you who don’t know, Odyssey of the Mind is a program where teams of five to seven kids have to solve problems. There are different competitive divisions: Division I is grades 3–5, Division II is grades 6–8, Division III is grades 9–12, and Division IV is for college. Last, there’s the Primary Division for grades K–2. You only compete with your division.
FLL is an amazing, great and educational experience. FLL stands for FIRST LEGO League. There are seven people on each team competing on LEGO robotics. Teams are scored on: the programs robots complete, teamwork and research. You cannot just research whatever you want, you have to research something with the theme.
