Since our founding in 1958, balance has been at the center of a St. Michael’s education. In everything we do, we emphasize personal care for the whole child, helping and nurturing each student to grow and develop intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. In short, we educate—as our Mission clearly states—in ‘mind, body, and spirit’ to prepare our students for lives of meaning and purpose.
We are committed to building our students’ capacity for success through a comprehensive, demanding curriculum (‘core’ academics, performing and visual arts, world language, and athletics) while developing their foundations in faith and service, integrity and leadership, and health and well-being. Today we educate 300 students from diverse faiths and backgrounds, in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, on a beautiful three-acre campus in central Tucson.

ARIZONA’S TEACHERS CAN APPLY FOR $5,000 GRANT TO BENEFIT THEIR CLASSROOMS
OR SCHOOLS FROM FIESTA BOWL CHARITIES WISHES FOR TEACHERS
Applications now open on WishesForTeachers.org; At least 100 teachers will
have wish granted
SCOTTSDALE, AZ – Arizona’s teachers can now submit their wish on how they
would use $5,000 for their classrooms. Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for
Teachers will provide more than 100 grants of $5,000 each to Arizona K-12
public or charter school teachers.
Teachers fill out an online application form at WishesForTeachers.org
detailing their school or classroom need and, after meeting the criteria,
wishes are selected by random drawing to receive a $5,000 grant. The
application period runs through Friday, November 3.
“Wishes for Teachers hits the nail right on the head of the Fiesta Bowl
mission to support Arizonans through education, youth, and sports,” said
Steve Leach, Fiesta Bowl Chairman of the Board of Directors. “Education is
the foundation for success in life, from youth through adulthood. We’re
honored to be able to equip our teachers with extra tools and make them even
more impactful than they are today.”
Fiesta Bowl Charities will match up to $500,000 in contributions, with the
ultimate goal to substantially increase the overall funding from 2016 and the
number of teachers who will enjoy a $5,000 wish.
“We couldn’t have been more pleased with our first year’s achievements
in helping Arizona’s teachers make their classrooms better. Teachers give
so much in their daily commitment to building our future leaders,” said
Fiesta Bowl Executive Director Mike Nealy. “Wishes for Teachers gives a
boost of support for our teachers and helps them create new educational
tracks, purchase much-needed current-day equipment and inspire growth in
their students.”
Fiesta Bowl Charities created Wishes for Teachers in 2016 and granted
$500,000 to 100 teachers statewide, with each teacher receiving $5,000 to
bolster resources in schools and benefit students. The Fiesta Bowl
organization saw that many teachers spent money on their own to enhance their
classroom experience and developed a program to aid teachers in that effort.
To see a complete list of the wishes granted, please visit
In addition to the financial gift, selected teachers have the opportunity to
be recognized in the National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade and on-field
at the 29th Annual Cactus Bowl at Chase Field.
