Happy Holidays, Teachers!
Bear’s December Issue is being distributed throughout the Valley and the Tucson Edition is set to print on Tuesday, Dec. 10. It features Favorite Family Holiday Traditions from around the world like Las Posadas, Hanukkah, Diwali and the Chinese New Year.
This month’s standards-based Classroom Worksheets are posted online and augment this issue. Please forward this email to your teaching teammates, and they can sign up for these notifications online at BearEssentialNews.com.
Please encourage your students, grades 2–8, to join our Young Reporters Program. Click here for the printable Sign-Up Form.
As part of this month’s Worksheets, students are supposed nominate someone they know for ASU Sustainability’s “Doing Good for the Community Award.” They are asked to write a short paragraph about the person, and Bear Essential’s address is on the worksheet. Winners will be recognized at the Sustainability Solutions Festival at the Arizona Science Center on Feb. 17, 2020, and tickets for the family will be included!
The monthly Young Reporter Night meeting in Tucson is the third Thursday of the month. This month, it’s at Bookmans on Speedway near Wilmot on Thursday, Dec. 19 from 5 p.m. till 6 p.m. There are prizes and refreshments, and if students have a news story to edit, please arrive at 4:30.
Have a Fabulous Winter Break,
