MOST PEOPLE KNOW GEODES AS CIRCULAR ROCKS THAT CONTAIN BEAUTIFUL CRYSTALS, BUT THERE’S MORE TO THEM THAN PEOPLE MAY KNOW. GEODES ARE CREATED BY GAS BUBBLES IN PUDDLES OF MUD. ONCE THE BUBBLE IS COVERED, THE MUD DRIES AND HARDENS. OVER TIME, WATER TRAVELS THROUGH THE BUBBLE, CARRYING MINERALS THAT REACT WITH THE GAS. THIS PROCESS CREATES AMAZING CRYSTALS INSIDE OF THE NEWLY FORMED GEODE. WHEN THE GEODE IS CRUSHED, IT OPENS TO RELEASE THE LEFTOVER GAS, AND REVEAL THE BEAUTIFUL CRYSTALS INSIDE THE GEODE. GEODES ARE AMAZING AND ARE PROBABLY SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL ROCKS I HAVE EVER SEEN. THIS IS MIA PALMER FROM DOOLEN MIDDLE SCHOOL FOR BEAR ESSENTIAL NEWS.
