THE WILD ROBOT IS A HEARTFELT TEARJERKER

“The Wild Robot” is a children’s animation movie about a robot who gets lost while being delivered, and is now stuck in the wild. The robot is named “Roz 7134.” She finds animals while in the forest. The animals don’t like her very much, because they think she is a monster that will kill them all.

In reality, all Roz is trying to do is fulfill her task. Although, when she realizes no one wants her, she tries to go back to where she came from, but the animals won’t let her. They break her transmitter.

Roz soon comes across a fox trying to get a duck egg. Roz tries to save the egg, and when it hatches in her hands she has no idea what to do.

Roz comes across the fox again. The fox, named Fink, decides to help her out even though he is one of the duck’s predators. Roz, Fink and the gosling, Brightbill, face many challenges, and have lessons to learn and obstacles to overcome.

Roz and Fink have to teach Brightbill how to hunt food, how to swim and even how to fly. The other ducks tell Brightbill that Roz is not his real mom. (They still consider the robot to be a monster.) Later, Fink and Roz start training Brightbill for the long migration south for the winter.

The robot and the animals have fun adventures but also tackle difficult problems, including the elements, natural (or unnatural) disasters, misunderstandings and separations.

Personally, I thought this was an amazing movie. It made so many people in the theater cry. It is definitely a tearjerker, but also a heartwarming, happy movie. Out of 10, I would have to rate this movie a 9.3.

According to James and Reyna from Phoenix, “I loved this movie so much. I would probably rate it like an 8.”
