James Patterson is a renowned writer, but of all his books, “Word of Mouse” seems to be one of the lesser known. However, it happens to be one of my favorites. Illustrated by Chris Grabenstein, the book is filled with beautiful depictions of what is happening in the story.
In 2018, Boy Scouts of America made the historic decision to change its name to Scouts BSA, and allow girls to join troops. According to the Boy Scouts website, since then over 5,000 young ladies have earned Eagle Scout rank, and over 75% of those females reported that scouting had a very positive effect on their abilities to set and achieve goals.

Did you know that over 150 million people worldwide are homeless? In addition to this somber fact, according to the United Nations, up to 1.6 billion people also have inadequate housing. Not only is this a growing problem, but many of these people lack bedding, appropriate clothes for the seasons and need more food. However, many organizations are working to help alleviate this ongoing issue.
Most people typically think of cars when they hear that Barrett-Jackson is coming into town. However, amidst all of those cars, there’s a place that younger people might also like. It is called STEM Fest. From geodes to virtual reality to offers for sailing classes, and everything in between, it truly is a festival to celebrate stem! If you can name it, they have it. But you may be asking “What is STEM Fest?”
Every year the U.S. Mint produces about 13 billion coins! That’s a lot, right? It recently announced that there will be a new picture on the quarter! The first woman on the quarter is…Maya Angelou! Angelou is a poet who read “On the Pulse of the Morning” when President Bill Clinton was being inaugurated. She is also known for many of her books like: “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings,” and “And Still I Rise.” She will be the first African American printed on a coin. Each year for the next five years, they’ll print a new trailblazer.
