Summer Reading Program
“Build a Better World”

Families and kids discover lots of fun and surprises this summer at Phoenix Public Library! Play the Summer Reading Game, log at least 20 minutes of reading a day (enter secret code bear to unlock a cool badge!) and be eligible to win weekly prizes such as Diamondback tickets and those logging a total of 1,000 minutes are eligible for Grand Prize drawings for family memberships to the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Arizona Science Center, Phoenix Zoo and more! Stop into any one of 17 locations and learn something about science through cool activities and demonstrations, check out an entertaining puppet show and so much more! Reptile Adventure: Join Riich Ihle and his extraordinary reptile friends, and get up close to these super cool, scaly specimens for a 45- minute educational and entertaining program.

The Magic of Richard Steele: Be astounded by mind reading and other feats of magic as renowned magician Richard Steele takes the stage.

Science Fun with Mark Carter: Today’s Science Fun is all about Electricity — Plugs, Batteries, Power! Demonstrating the capabilities of electricity is fun and safe when done correctly. Find out if the human body is an electric machine, if you can create a magnet out of electricity, and what happens when a person is struck by lightning!
