Join us once again for a day of FREE family fun for the entire Tucson community! It’s time for our 5th Annual STEM Festival and just like in previous years, it’s destined to be an amazing day! We have a great line-up this year including the return of many of our exhibitors from previous years plus some new ones that we’re incredibly excited about. Our theme this year is “How Things Work” and our exhibitors (as well as our own students’ projects) will give visitors an inside look at the objects we use every day and show us the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics that actually make those objects "work." Send a message to space aboard a Vector Launch rocket and learn just how those rockets put microsatellites into orbit. WhyThingsFly.com will introduce students to the magic of flight with hands-on kite-making and flying classes. Our Biotechnology exhibit will have prosthetic hands and artificial joints on display as well as replacement heart valves, artificial skin, and other new technologies that keep us living active, healthy lives.

Once again, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to get your hands on a variety of critters. Get up-close and personal with The Tucson Reptile Museum’s friendly reptiles and cuddle with University of Arizona’s caterpillars and cockroaches before you venture into the butterfly tent to read a book. Rockets and and drones will soar over our field sky and when they're on break, you can take a peek through our solar telescopes and try some tasty solar-cooked treats. Sonoran Glass Academy will mesmerize you with their beautiful glass blowing demonstrations and our chemistry magic will certainly amaze you! Immerse yourself in a variety of physics feats, brain games, and engineering challenges before the day is through. You won’t run out of things to do!

There is something for everyone at this year’s festival so come on out and join us on Sunday, April 7th from 10-2 on the THA campus- 3888 E. River Rd., just east of the JCC.
