Downtown Tempe is saluting those who have served their country with celebrating over 50 years of tradition with its annual Veterans Day Parade honoring military veterans. The patriotic fun of this hometown tradition begins at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, 2022.

After a two-year pandemic hiatus, the parade is back and thousands of attendees are expected to once more line the streets of Tempe to show appreciation for military veterans’ service to the nation.

Volunteers will hand out thousands of small flags to children and veterans along the parade route, creating a sea of red, white and blue to welcome parade participants, including members of the Tempe City Council, area Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, local school marching bands, community members, veteran groups        and more.

With its central location, vibrant character and plenty of heritage to celebrate, Downtown Tempe is a preeminent Valley gathering spot, ideal for bringing the community together to show appreciation for the contributions made by generations of veterans living in the Tempe and surrounding areas.

                               10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 11, 2022

The Downtown Tempe Veteran’s Day Parade steps off at Arizona State University’s Gammage Auditorium near 12th Street and Mill Avenue, then continues north up Mill Avenue, through Downtown Tempe to Tempe Beach Park.
