A fun class learning Afro-Brazilian martial arts.

Capoeira uses flowing, acrobatic moves and has a rich cultural heritage. It is a beautiful and thrilling martial/dance art form started over 400 years ago in response to the oppression of Africans enslaved in Brazil. Interwoven into Capoeira are elements of dance, song, and percussion, which were originally used to disguise training to fight for freedom by making it appear as a game of dance and music. Capoeira is a fun challenge for kids, teens, and adults! It greatly improves physical and mental strength, agility, confidence, creativity and builds rapport between people of all ages and cultures.

Limited to 20 participants. Tickets will be handed out 30 minutes before this event. You must be present to receive a ticket. All events are subject to change or cancellation. Please call 594-5445 with questions.
