BARRO’S PIZZA HOSTS EIGHTH ANNUAL DORAN BARRO HOLIDAY HUNGER FIGHT, DEC. 3, AT ALL VALLEY LOCATIONS

One Hundred Percent Of The Proceeds From All Sales On Dec. 3 Will Go To St. Mary’s Food Bank

PHOENIX (Nov. 15, 2019) – Barro’s Pizza is doing their part once again in the fight against hunger in Arizona. On Tuesday, December 3, Barro’s Pizza will host the eighth annual Doran Barro Holiday Hunger Fight benefiting St. Mary’s Food Bank. The Barro family will donate 100 percent of the proceeds from all 43 Barro’s locations on this day to help those in Arizona facing hard times during the holidays.

“The community has really gotten behind this event every year, and we hope they will do the same this year by ordering or dining in at one of our restaurants on Dec. 3,” said Gina Barro co-owner of Barro’s Pizza. “Barro’s makes it a priority to help in the community however we can, and it’s especially important over the holidays to make sure no one goes hungry. We are committed to helping to end hunger in Arizona and will continue to dedicate the first Tues. in Dec. every year to help this cause.”

Last year, Barro’s Pizza raised a grand total of $255,141 for St Mary’s, making this the highest donation from the annual event. Every dollar donated equates to seven meals, so this last year’s donation provided 1,785,987 meals during the holiday season to Arizona’s hungry. Over the last seven years, $1,206,257 was raised which equals almost 8.5 million meals. Over the years, the Doran Barro Holiday Hunger Fight has become St. Mary’s largest cause-marketing effort of the year.

“We are so very grateful to the Barro Family for their continued support each year,” said St. Mary’s President and CEO, Tom Kertis. “We truly couldn’t do what we do without the generosity and support of companies like Barro’s Pizza and their loyal customers. We are so very appreciative for your continued support of our community.”

About Barro’s Pizza

Barro’s Pizza is a locally and family-owned pizza operation with 43 locations around the Valley and in Pima County. The Barro’s Pizza recipe comes from Grandma Angelina Barro who came from Italy in the 1930s, providing a pizza unlike any other. People may disagree on whether it's the thick crust with its light, flakey texture, which almost melts in your mouth, or the wonderful spiced sauce that is both tangy and sweet, that is the secret of this great tasting pizza. Barro’s Pizza also provides wings, salads, sandwiches, pasta, gluten-free pizza options, dessert, beer and wine. For more information, visit www.barrospizza.com and follow @barrospizza on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
