“Don’t wait for it to happen, make it happen.”
A phrase that motivates and inspires us to change the world.
Chief Science Officers inspire and teache us to be brilliant leaders who change the world and take care of communities with our STEM-based projects.
I am part of the CSO Leadership Council of Mexico. I really like working in a team, motivating others to reach their goals, and encouraging them to never give up.
In my time as a CSO, I have been amazed by the projects that have been carried out by my fellow CSOs. The goal of many of the Action Plans has been to help improve our environment.
Currently, I am still working with my action plan which consists of making a house with 100% plastic bottles. I think it is a great idea because we can recycle and reuse, because a plastic bottle takes at least 100 years to decompose.
I really like my work as a CSO. We have oppourtunities to learn more about different careers in STEM at our CSO Saturday events where we meet with different STEM professionals who share their experiences in their careers and the difficulties they had to reach their goals.
My favorite was meeting with the engineers Sebastian and Camilo Tobacia from Blue Origin. At CSO Saturdays we not only get to interact with STEM professionals but also have various activities during the meetings such as math games, science quizzes, computer science demos, and more.
Next month as an Action Plan I am organazing a science fair with the goal of attracting younger students to get them interested in STEM.
And remember “do not wait for it to happen, make it happen.”
