Extremely colorful, fun, rainbow, interesting, vibrant and splash of color! These are the words I’m using to describe the Crayola Experience in Chandler.

When I first entered through the door, a staff member gave me a bag with two silver tokens inside. The first thing I did was a coloring page of a police officer. There were tons of crayons farther than the eye could see. All those different colors reminded me of a gigantic rainbow.

Have you ever been to the Heard Museum? There are thousands of items on display there.

Marcus Monenerkit, Director of Community Engagement for the Heard Museum, had an interest in different cultures and diversity. “My dad traveled a lot and sent us postcards. When I got older, I still had the love. My father was a Comanche and my mother kept me connected with my father’s side. My grandmother spoke fluent Comanche.” Monenerkit started working at the Heard Museum in 1998.

Recently I went to the Tucson Museum of Art (TMA) with a friend. Going to TMA was fun and they had lots of interesting pieces. One of my favorites was a piece called “Interstellar.” It is a cool, mind illusion painting of a person in a poncho. It has a rainbow color pallet and lots of curved lines that makes it look almost like it’s moving. “Interstellar” is only one interesting piece among other cool and colorful pieces in the TMA exhibits. It was created by Alia Ali. Ali is a multi-media artist who has been to 67 countries! “Interstellar” has been on display since October 2021.

J.M. Barrie’s story about a boy who wouldn’t grow up has delighted children for generations. From the iconic Disney animated film, to the stage musical, to movie adaptations by the dozen, Peter Pan is clearly one of the most popular children’s books of all time.

Come be part of the magic as Arizona Curriculum Theater narrates excerpts from the story as you bring it to life.
