First up on the docket this month is the Monster Mash on Oct. 14, 2017, from 4 to 9 p.m., at Historic Steam Pump Ranch, located on 10901 N. Oracle Rd. This free event is a great time for kids and families of all ages, but is especially geared for the tweens and teens who like spooky fun. There will many haunting and fun activities for everyone to take part in. For those who want to be moving and grooving with the spirits this Halloween, there are some active and exciting activities in store: pumpkin carving booths, Halloween crafts, a spooky ally for tweens through adults, a scary movie scavenger hunt, and a cartoon-themed maze. There will also be a PG rated Halloween movie playing for a relaxed and laid back time with friends and family. And if music is your thing, we’ll have an awesome DJ playing some haunting tunes to bring out your inner boogie monster on the dance floor. Plus we can’t forget, there will be some delicious food trucks for all guests to enjoy throughout the event.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Alongside all the Halloween activities, for all the athletes out there, there will be a 5K, 10K, and Fun Run as part of the Monster Mash event. Race registration is $50 until Oct. 13; $60 on Race Day. Races begin at 4 pm. The Fun Run for kids is a free event that is a one mile race. Costumes are encouraged and welcomed! The Fun Run begins at 5:30 pm. There will be amazing prizes for all participants!

Next on the docket for October is the Halloween Spooktacular that takes place on Oct. 27, 2017 at 5 p.m., at the Oro Valley Community Center, located on 10555 N. La Ca164ada Drive.
