Dog Portraits in the Gardens

  • Where: Tucson Botanical Gardens, 2150 N Alvernon Way

  • Cost: $10 one pose, $15 two poses, includes garden admission for you and your dog.

Tucosn Botanical Gardens invites dog lovers across Tucson to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to have professional photos taken of your beloved companion in the Gardens’ lush landscape. Professional photographer Vicky Stromee generously donates her time to the Gardens each year to make this fun event a fundraiser for the Gardens.

Maximum of two dogs per photo, please.

Wing Madness Night!

Between Earth & Sky: Climate Change on the Last Frontier

  • Where: The Loft Cinema, 3233 E. Speedway Blvd.

The Loft will hold a special screening of Between Earth and Sky and will also feature a post-film panel discussion with local experts Dr. Joseph Blankinship, University of Arizona assistant professor and soil biogeochemist, Moira Hough, a PhD candidate in the UA Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology; and Dr. Craig Rasmussen, a UA professor of environmental pedology.

Enjoy a evening with a meal eaten while you're blindfolded for a fun night of blindfolds  and the Arizona Daily Star's David Fitzsimmons! There also will be a silent auction that starts at 5:30 p.m. and the proceeds will benefit EMVIA, Tucson's most comprehensive, one stop resource and non-profit for those with visual impairments.

The Rincon Institute invites you to our 16th Annual Roasted Chile Festival at the Rincon Valley Farmers & Artisans Market in Tucson. Join us September 16th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Enjoy fresh-roasted Arizona-grown green chilies, along with locally grown produce and fruit, artisans and crafters, and great food! There will be plenty of activities for kids and live music by John Grant & the Guilty Bystanders and Johnny Bencomo. Traffic will be slowed down on Old Spanish Trail with a special event permit and police officers. Bring the whole family for a fun filled day. For the big kids, there also will be a beer garden. 

Outdoor Park Concert

Join the Arizona Symphonic Winds at the Udall Park for a free night of music and good company. This will be the first of the four free concerts the Arizona Symphonic Winds will host on Saturdays in September/October. But do bring your own lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
